Anthony Davis, 30, has agreed to a new contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Davis has agreed to a three-year, $186 million contract extension with the Lakers, ESPN reported on Friday, citing Davis’ agent, Clutch Sports CEO Rich Paul.

Davis had two years and $84 million remaining on his contract. The three-year extension became available on Friday local time, and both sides moved quickly to put their stamps on the new deal.

According to ESPN, the contract extension is worth an average of $62 million per year, making it the highest average annual contract extension in NBA history.

Davis, an eight-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA and three-time blocked shots leader, averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in 56 games last season, averaging 34 minutes per game.

Behind his play, the Lakers finished the season in seventh place in the Western Conference and advanced to the conference finals, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors in the playoffs.

For the fifth time, he averaged 25 points and two blocked shots in a season. According to ESPN, that’s the third-most times he’s done that, behind only Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

He also recorded 50 or more blocked shots in the playoffs in a single season, the third time he has done so, also joining O’Neal and Abdul-Jabbar.안전놀이터

With the extension, Davis is guaranteed to be under contract longer than teammate LeBron James. LeBron currently has a player option for the 2024-25 season.
