South Korea international defender Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) played full-time in his first UEFA Champions League (UCL) match since joining the club, helping his team to victory.
The Bavarians won their first UCL match of the season with a 4-3 victory over Manchester United (England) in the first leg of their 2023-2024 UEFA Champions League Group A match at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on Tuesday (July 21).
Kim Min-jae started at center back in his first UCL game since joining the club, partnering with Dayo Upamecano until the end of the match to keep United’s attack at bay.
Playing at home, Munich were expected to cruise to an easy victory against a United side that has been in a bit of a funk of late, but it proved to be a tighter affair than expected. United opened the scoring first. Christian Eriksen had a shot on goal in the fourth minute of the first half, but it went straight at the keeper.
Munich then took the lead in the 28th minute when Leroy Sane exchanged passes with Harry Kane and fired a shot that goalkeeper Andre Onana couldn’t handle properly.
After taking the lead, the Bavarians made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute when Serge Gnabry slotted home a pass from the left flank by Jamal Musalla. United fought back but could not find the back of the net and the first half ended with Munich ahead.
However, the Red Devils picked up the pace in the final minutes of the first half and pulled a goal back four minutes into the second half when Rasmus Höyrun’s left-footed shot deflected off Kim Min-Jae’s leg and into the back of the net. Munich doubled their lead two minutes later when Kane calmly slotted home a penalty after a handball foul on Eriksen to make it 3-1.온라인바카라
With the game on the line, United took off Hojelun and Pellistri and brought on Martial and Garnacho to push forward, and it paid off. In the 43rd minute, Casemiro was able to slide the ball home with his left foot as he was brought down to make it 2-3.
However, Munich struck again in stoppage time when Mathis Thiel finished off an exquisite pass from Josua Kimmich to make it 4-2. United scored again through Casemiro, but the game ended 4-3, with Munich holding on for a point.
